I'm screaming over Bernhard Willhelm's footwear this season, he can do no wrong in my eyes

These boots are like the dirty butch lesbian version of the Westwood pirate boots. Me encantan!!!!!

available also with tan straps and in a heeled version, but this is the best combo TBH

available at Opening Ceremony and Camper.com

while we're on the subject of latex, rubber, etc, I kinda want a pair of clear latex leggings to wear under layers and layers of winter clothing.

there's something so appealing about getting a peek of a shiny plastic leg every now and then.

FROM RUNWAY TO RETAIL: A TRAGEDY OF MODERN TIMES

:::::EDIT: before doing my homework I posted how I thought the fw09 runway Acne platforms were way better than their retail counterpart (Atacoma)... only to learn from astute commenter L that the Atacomas preceded the fall09 version! the Atacomas are actually pre-fall '09. :::::::::::::::::::

THAT SAID, I remain unconvinced by the Atacomas. I'm not saying I hate them, but they're missing something. It might be a problem with the silhouette? Unsure.

I do, however, love the fall'09 version... it takes the Atacoma model and goes the whole hog. The chunky silhouette totally works here.

Fall'09

Atacoma

they look kinda clumsy, no?

to not speak of the knockoffs...

Before editing I mentioned a tragic disease that seems to plague many labels (except Acne...for now): the BRAS (Bad Retail Adaptation Syndrome).

Dior has a chronic bad case of the BRAS... the retail versions are always huge letdowns. On the last shoe they even went so far as to eliminate the curved heel!!!

D:

"The Making of a Chanel 2.55"

...Over 30 new models are produced each year, forming part of the House’s seven annual collections. 6 to 15 people are working for up to 18 hours (depending on the material) on one Chanel "2.55". While in the past, up to 80% of all bags produced were black, they represent only 50% of the diverse range proposed today.

Hardly the image of a highly exclusive luxury product... Jesus it's like someone broke into a replica factory with a DSLR

pics from fashionoffice.org via bagcraze.blogspot.com

yeah, this is one of those annoying "omg i want i need, i die, i choke, rachel zoe-isms, etc" posts commonly encountered around the blogs, but I cannot help it. The thigh- high JPG cut-out Docs and I are meant to be.

At first I decided to try contacting JPG directly to find out cost, points of sale, etc., but their website doesn't have any emails listed, only a very annoying contact form. Contact forms suck ass. I like to write my emails from the comfort of my super mario-themed gmail account. That aside, no one ever answered back... so I contacted Doc Martens UK which kindly gave me the soul-crushing news that the thigh highs were press/runway only, and that only the 14-eyelet version would be produced for sale.

Why such surefire sellers are not to be manufactured is beyond me.. they are not insane feats of construction or labor (sup nina ricci/mcqueen embroidered hooves)

From my humble point of view all of the extra modifications that go into a thigh-high JPG Doc are easily adaptable into the existing DM production line... apparently the laser cutout process isn't a problem seeing as they're doing the 14-eyelets so it's a no-brainer for me, though I am curious to know why.

If you need the 14-eyelets in your life they will be for sale at the DM shop on
Neal Street,
London. They will not have them in stock until mid to end of December.

The shop offers a mail order service and their telephone number is 0207
2407931.

O HAY

taking a quick study break to post one of my recent outfitz

comme des garcons coat
zara stripy sweater
dsquared blackwatch tartan skirt
chloe wedges

yes, you guys read correctly, that is me actually ..:::**WeAriNg**:::.... Dsquared. I bought this shit at a multibrand sample sale I had to line up for, and since the the selection was not good I picked the lesser of the many evils that were for sale just for the sake of not leaving empty handed.
It is actually pretty gorgeous. Top-notch quality aside, it has an insane bright yellow lining that looks perfect against the dark blue/green.
I did, however, Westwoodify it a little it by way of strategically placed safety pins... the shape was kind of boring, and dare I say it, matronly even... no wonder it was at the sample sale!! of course only the hooker version made it into stores (which was a teeny, asscheek-grazing pleated scrap, begging to be paired with uggs).

Besides the skirt, there were a few things Dsquared that didn't make me cringe, only to have an insider friend of mine later explain that there is many a young talent working on the design team. o i c.

I couldn't resist trying this cropped jacket on tho
