THAT SAID, I remain unconvinced by the Atacomas. I'm not saying I hate them, but they're missing something. It might be a problem with the silhouette? Unsure.
I do, however, love the fall'09 version... it takes the Atacoma model and goes the whole hog. The chunky silhouette totally works here.

Before editing I mentioned a tragic disease that seems to plague many labels (except Acne...for now): the BRAS (Bad Retail Adaptation Syndrome).
Dior has a chronic bad case of the BRAS... the retail versions are always huge letdowns. On the last shoe they even went so far as to eliminate the curved heel!!!

I agree with the Dior comment, but not with the Acne.
Isn't the Atacomas from the pre-fall collection, while the pair Susie is wearing is from fall 09/10 (see this link: http://dazeddigital.com/Fashion/article/1793/1/Acne_AW_09 ) and those shoes just haven't hit the stores yet? I don't think the Atacomas are retail adaptions at all, they're just from a different season.

I do hope the new fall '09 acne shoes look like that, though.
i wish they would put the tapestry fall 09 ones into production, but sadly no :( the mirrored bottom ones are definitely amazing though! hope to get my hands on a pair. i'm sick of the atacomas.
While I don't hate the Atacomoas, I agree that they're nothing close to original. Susie's so lucky she got the real thang.
