MØØNSPØØN SALØØN

Moonspoon Saloon was born from a meeting of the minds of designer and CSM graduate Sara Sachs and artist Tal R.
They started out as a Danish label but moved to LA in november 2009.

Not being afraid to create new shapes and mixing materials and prints like no one's business, MSS have been showing up in the world's most directional shops in limited editions. Dover Street Market and Seven NY mebbe?

The clothes are already knockouts considering the oversized silhouettes alone, and with Tal R.'s technicolor flair they come to life. Don't they put you in a good mood just looking at them??
If I was a psychiatrist I would probably be decked in Moonspoon Saloon at my therapy sessions, no need to give my patients no Zoloft!!

their FW10 collection is entitled "California"

Roller skates, people cropped in half, crayon-colored backgrounds?? PUT IT ALL ON MEH

crop tops that let you see a lil' bit of skin

Moonspoon Saloon recently did a performance Old and Confused in collaboration with the notorious L.A. based choreographer Ryan Heffington. California was shown by contemporary dancers and roller skaters in the streets of China Town in Los Angles.

Gareth Pugh spring summer 06

catwalking

Striking what a little bit of color can do to Gareth Pugh. If his pieces were already deemed "unwearable", then red can definitely push them over the point of no return into Piaggi and Blow territory... they become almost unrecognizable, if not for the obvious signatures like the star print, patent leather polygons and PVC.
He has been evolving gradually, sometimes walking on the brink of rehashing (the "lumps and bumps" being used in two consecutive collections?), but I am crazy curious to see what is in store for SS10.

PS: If I'm not mistaken look 3 is a RED AND WHITE MINK

Hussein Chalayan

Hussein Chalayan footwear

from oki-ni:

Produced and developed in association with Sergio Rossi and Puma, the unisex HYBRID COLLECTION explores the morphing of genres, a re-occuring theme in Chalayan's work. Borrowing elements from existing footwear styles, the unisex HYBRID COLLECTION offers a fresh interpretation of the trainer.

The colour palette includes taupe, black, coffee, neutral and white. Fabrics range from suede and calf leather to nylon puffa and the collection comprises of five key styles.

They look a bit like the spawn of a RickOwensCommonProjectsRafbyRaf drunk threeway but I'm cool with that. The boot is especially striking, I can see it becoming a total it-shoe this winter. Who wants to initiate the countdown till Kanye copies them for his next LV line wears them?

I couldn't find much more info on him online but I am curious to see how he evolves (assuming he's a newcomer). The majority of the elements (black leather, buckles, laces and platforms) in this collection feel so done already but I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it, since they've proved to bestow a magical "sold-out" quality to many a shoe in these recent times!

I will be adding him to my "ones to watch" though...

***EDITING TO ADD***

weird that right after I did this post I found these LaRares on google images that were relevant to my interests. that must be that annoying spying&advertising that google does all the time.

lararela

I guess this insanity right here is a prime example of how I like my laces, buckles and platforms done

but then again La Rare rarely fails to impress.
