Feast your eyes on Stephen Venezia shoes.
I would like to halt any thoughts you might be having bordering on the "OMG MARGIELA KNOCKOFF" seeing as Stephen is actually the factory where Margiela (and Dries) shoes are made! this above might be the design that inspired the now-famous margiela triangle sandal, or vice-versa. We'll never know.

The designs are unique and proportioned, with no shortage of gorgeous innovative details. This is a case where the adjective "unique" is not a euphemism for "hideous".

The foldover boots are NUTS. I can't get enough of them. They are most stunning in that dove grey color.

Oversized scarves, sweaters and shirts have faces cut out on them, making them look like they're melting. Loving the contrast to see these goofy shapes and cartoony proportions with the sober black and white palette.
If you're gonna do oversized, go all the way and make a statement! this ain't the wimpy-ass american apparel "oversized".

Tried on some Balenciaga at this random little store that sells past season stock.
The embroidery on the white shift was bat-shit crazy. I took a gander at the retail price and it was like 1995 euros, which honestly seems like Mervyn's pricing compared to the "new" standards we've been bombarded with lately. It was reduced down to 450. Even if I would've had the cash I wouldnt've got it because it barely covered my ass and I'm so not into that.

tried on some ss08 floral junk but there is no way to get around that print. The shortsleeve top (230euro) in the pic above looked amazing on me, the shoulders were cut in the stiff scuba fabric so it gave a great silhouette. I wish he had chosen leopard or giraffe print instead.

also tried on this Dior shortsleeve jacket (300 euro) in black. It was GORGEOUS and fit me like a glove. I started hotflashing right then and there.

Charlotte Olympia just won a free pass to become JJ's homegurl. The last pair is SS09 and absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to find. I have emailed everywhere!! Browns has them ON SALE in a size 36. I have tranny feet so that ain't happening anytime soon. Charlotte Olympia is what's up.

Noticeably absent from the T.O.F is Nicholas Kirkwood. He's on a time out in the corner until he can stop making rehashes of his slanted platform.

And yet another time my holy grail balenciaga jacket (see right) woefully slips through my fingers... Even with the recession people don't balk at shelling out $800+ on ebay for that jacket. I kick myself when I think back to winter 2007 when it was on sale at Barney's for $500!! *cry*



In other news, my trusty old laptop finally died. It was 6 years old. I am still waiting to extract all my bookmarks and stuff from the hard drive, thankfully (let's be optimistic) it was a motherboard problem so my junk is SAFE. On the other hand, I had to dip into the JJ shoe fund to get myself a new computer. And to think I was eyeing a pair of the SS09 Pradas! I tried the slingbacks on in a boutique and fell in LUH right then and there.

how terribly unglamorous is summer?

even in this disgusting, suffocating Italian heat I pore over HQ's of fall shows. I literally drool over thigh high suede boots and wraparound shearling jackets.

I am over heat, sun, sunscreen and sweat. One of my only summer purchases has been a STUNNING finnish lamb pelt with long, straight fur... sort of like mongolian lamb fur but less curly. I plan on making a vest. Managed to get two of them so you might see one up for sale, in case I don't cut it up to make some fur trim for shoes and jackets...



Yoox's new fall arrivals are not helping AT ALL. Is anyone else maniacally checking back to see if the fw08 jil sander origami coats come in?
